Skin Needling

Skin Needling

Dermapen, the most advanced form of Skin Needling is a quick, easy and minimally invasive way to promote skin tightening, scar healing, and increase natural collagen reproduction.

Skin Needling stimulates the release of growth factors that stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. New collagen production is the object of all skin resurfacing and rejuvenation treatments. Skin Needling creates dermal damage without the removal of healthy epidermis, which happens with other resurfacing techniques. Because the epidermis is left intact, the healing period is more rapid and the skin does not risk permanent structural damage.

Using this unique vertical needling technology, Dermapen’s multiple needles, multi-speed and adjustable needle depths allow it to pierce your skin’s layers at 90 degrees.

During the treatment, a slight sting and vibrating effect can be felt as the pen glides over the skin. Unlike other methods of skin needling, the pen technology is comfortable with procedural time complete in around 20 minutes. The ergonomic pen is able to treat all contours and hard to reach areas on the face, including the upper lip and under the eyes. Post-treatment, the skin feels and looks like mild sunburn with redness lasting up to 2 days.

More importantly, Dermapen is relatively painless, even for hard-to-reach and delicate places such as around the eyes, nose and lips where fine lines and wrinkles are most visible. The vertical delivery makes it easily able to penetrate and break up scar tissue for improved healing.

There is no chance of cross infection as the device only uses disposable needles. And because damage to your epidermal layer is minimized, rejuvenation results are enhanced. Active ingredients can be directly supplied to the deeper layers of the skin for a superior effect on collagen and elastin rejuvenation.

• Skin tightening, natural collagen induction, lifting and rejuvenation
• Healing acne scars and wounds
• Plumping and Improving wrinkles and fine lines
• Open-pore minimization
• Reducing stretch marks
• Aiding penetration of treatment solutions
• Assists in the treatment of Alopecia

Skin needling induces cell production in the skin by creating micro-injuries to the epidermis and dermis alike, which results in plumper, rejuvenated skin. It is an excellent treatment for:

  • Ageing skin
  • Lined and Wrinkled Skin
  • Acne scars
  • Burn scars
  • Pigmentation
  • Alopecia

Any hypertrophic scars, such as acne or burn scars, respond very well to skin needling, as depressed scars become elevated and the surface contours of the skin become plumper and smoother.

There may be some redness and mild swelling in the treated skin areas. Depending on the intensity of the treatment you may experience light crusting for the following 7-10 days.

Generally, your skin will heal within 3-5 days and you can resume your normal activities. To get the best results it is essential for you to get the after-care products that your therapist recommends.

A minimum of 6 treatments is recommended to achieve the best results. The treatments are performed 4 weeks apart.
